It was a long weekend, so we decided to explore the great outdoors. It’s about a 3-hour drive to Yosemite National Park, so we stayed in a cute little motel/lodge in Coulterville which is right outside of the park.
It’s been a rainy/snowy season this year, thanks to El Nino, so there’s been snow in Yosemite. The weather was quite warm this past weekend so with the snowmelt, the waterfalls were full.
On Saturday, we did all the vistas to Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Falls.
On Sunday, we hiked to Mirror Lake and did the loop around. It was about 5 miles, which took 2-3 hours, including stops to take pictures.
We’re hoping to get the lottery for the Half Dome hike this summer, which is a 10-hour hike up the side of this mountain. I figured it can’t be as bad as Tough Mudder, which took the same amount of time, but at least we don’t have to do obstacles this time!
